JS Kabylie president: “I will ask to punish those who denigrated Algeria’s martyrs”

President of Algeria’s JS Kabylie Mohaned Cherif Hannachi said it would be normal that his football team gets a hearty welcome from Egypt’s authorities and Al-Nadi is Ismaili.

• Hananchi believes that it is a football game and it is not supposed to go beyond its sportive limits. “We were expecting such a great welcome. We came to Egypt to play a football match and it is natural that we are received as a football team.”

• He added that he will ask for explanations from Egypt about what happened following a World Cup qualifying match between Algeria and Egypt.

• He also said it is impossible to forget the Egyptian insults of Algeria’s symbols. “I will ask to punish the people who insulted our martyrs.”

• “Insults can be in the pitch among fans or players but it is unbelievable that a whole country’s symbols are humiliated. Because of that, we will ask for an investigation and punish those people.”

• Hannachi is expected to hold talks with governmental officials to end the conflict between the two countries. “I expect that there would be reconciliation between Algeria and Egypt only if the Egyptian authorities punish the people behind this crisis,” he told Echorouk.
